We are in the process of deploying Ansible Automation Platform and I am trying to modify some roles to use our Red Hat Satellite inventory groups. I saw that they are loaded. But how would I call the groups in a playbook? Or would I need to?
@Waldirio could I dare ask if you can take a look at this question? You’re the only Satellite guru I know. Muito obrigado!
Hello @smi-andrew
When working with AAP retrieving info from Satellite, this process will import some information as hostgroup, location, organization, host parameters, etc, and on your AAP side, you should be able to see some groups created automatically.
Please, on your Satellite, check on left menu - Monitor - Reports - Report Templates, and double-check "Ansible - Ansible Inventory".
This is the report that will provide the info on your AAP side, and if you would like to set and/or change something, you can do it via AAP, passing some parameters.
Let's keep this simple for now, you can create this report to have an idea, and when setting up your AAP, some information should be populated automatically on your AAP side.
Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

So I guess I don't understand how to reference that WITHIN the role. This is specific for my ad_join role and I wil need to split up my environments by group. I don't understand how to reference that in the role. Can you help with that?
Thanks!
Hello @smi-andrew
Sure, we can. If you are already a customer with a valid subscription (I believe you are), please, feel free to open a new support case, and feel free to add my name over there.
The case owner will find me, and we can for sure move on. If you don't have a valid subscription, please, let me know.
Thank you!
Wally
How do I add your name to the case? Or should I just message you the case numbeR?
Also, thank you very much!
Hey @smi-andrew
Just ask the case owner to ping me about your case, and I'll move on from there.
Thank you!
Wally
